Keith MacDonald, Past President
Since 2008, Keith has been the Assistant Director of Operations for The Burntwood Hotel and The Thompson Inn, and prior to this was the General Manager of the Burntwood Hotel.
He has amassed 27 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry. He has had the fortunate opportunity to work in various aspects of the industry, from Corporate Hotels in Fredericton, N.B. to Calgary, Alberta, beautiful mountain resorts in Banff, Alberta and outback retreats for Brewster Adventures in both Banff and Kananaskis Country.
He has experienced each and every position in a hotel and draws from his worldly experience to offer clients a truly unique experience.
Keith also has been actively involved in volunteer work, which included Chairperson of Rendez-vous Fredericton, and Secretary for the Thompson Hotel / Restaurant Association.
If asked, he will tell you that his greatest and proudest moments of his life are to see his children grow into respectable young adults who will be successful in whatever they choose to accomplish, and a credit to their generation.
Linda Markus, President
Linda is a lifelong resident of Northern Manitoba. She first arrived in Thompson in June 1980. Over the years she has worked in various capacities in the community and has been involved with several community organizations.
Linda obtained university degrees from Brandon University and University of Manitoba, including a Master’s Degree in Education. She is currently employed by the School District of Mystery Lake. She has also worked for several post-secondary institutions.
In addition, Linda owns and manages a number of residential rental properties. She maintains her connection to her agricultural roots through her involvement in a family owned farm.

Larry Caplette, Treasurer
Larry has been in retail management for over 35 years and has managed stores of all sizes from small Variety to large Big Box stores with sales of over $40 million. He has lived in over 30 communities and worked in, or with, retail stores as far North as Inuvik, N.W.T. and Grise Fiord, on Ellesmere Island in Nunavut.
Larry has held the position of President of the Retail Merchants Association in various communities and belonged to a number of Chambers of Commerce in various communities. He is currently Manager of the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission in Thompson.
Carol Pelton, Secretary
Carol has been a resident of the north since 1985 and a member of the Thompson Chamber of Commerce since 2003. A retired teacher, Carol has been a home based business owner since 1992, and is the owner/operator of Travel Only which she opened in 2005 in the City Centre Mall.
Carol is certified under TICO (Ontario Travel Industry Regulations), CLIA (Cruise Line International), and IATA (International Air Transport Association) to provide travel services.
Carol has served on several community boards in Thompson. She is the Past President of the Thompson Business and Professional Women’s Club, Thompson Rotary Club, and Thompson Health Auxiliary. Most recently she helped with Operation Red Nose.
Louise Hodder, Director
Louise is a 30 year resident of Thompson, and is a manager with Local Government Services - Province of Manitoba. She is also owner of Curves fitness center.
Louise has served on numerous Boards and committees and currently sits on the Thompson YWCA Board as well as the Status of Women Advisory Council.
Louise believes in, and has experienced, the many opportunities that Thompson has to offer. Thompson is a great place to raise a family, start a business, advance a career, become part of the community or take an active role in recreation and sport. Whatever your interest you will find it here.

Margaret Allan, Office Manager
Margaret works part time in the Chamber office which is open Monday – Friday. She has been Office Manager since 2002.
